Nancy L Moore grew up in a household where art and creativity were always encouraged. She credits her late father, Wayne Moore, an artist who loved nature, with giving her a solid foundation on which to build. Nancy writes: "Truth be told, both of my parents were quite creative and always encouraged being artistic... Lucky for me!"
Nancy likes to experiment with her style, with an emphasis on abstracting nature and landscapes. She never sets out to replicate an image, but instead, strives to convey a mood or evoke an emotion using loose lines, rich textures and bold colours. Beyond the beauty of her pieces lies a deeper, more poignant message. Nancy’s work serves as a powerful narrative of environmentalism, shedding light on the problem of deforestation and the importance of tree conservation.
Nancy graduated from George Brown College in Graphic Design and has been the co-owner of Seastar Images a graphics/signage company for many years. Although she continues to be involved in the graphics industry, Nancy's real passion has always be painting. Nancy has furthered her artistic development by continuing to attend a variety of workshops and classes. She feels one never knows where their artistic path might take them, so it's critical to practice and learn new techniques.
Nancy feels it’s important to give back to the artistic community. She has donated artwork to the Art of Giving charity auction organized by United Way and York Region. She was also invited to be the guest feature artist and donated artwork for the 32nd Annual Sportsman Night run by the Cobourg Rotary Club.
Following in her father's footsteps, Nancy is now a member of Ontario Society of Artists, as well as the the Federation of Canadian Artists, and the Society of Canadian Artists.
Nancy enjoys showing across southern Ontario including galleries in Cobourg, Port Perry, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Collingwood, London and, of course, Toronto. She also has representation in Quebec & Nova Scotia.
