The human body is a womb of transformation. A transformer of images, ideas, concepts, stories, narratives, intentions and spaces. A "shaman who "channels" both the deepest as well as the shallowest cosmic concepts.
The body narration concept requires multi-sensory intertwining, an inter-sensory chiasm that invites the artist to an expanded artistic research process.
In this cycle of Performance Workshops and through the concept of «Human Altars» we will investigate the idea of the «sacred & political body» from the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch to the movement of Viennese Actionists and Performance Art. We will give our focus to the ability of the human body to transform and channel, concepts and ideas starting from the meaning of sacredness to the political performance action.
In this training process we will work with specialised exercises originating from the Performance Art Movements of Body art and Japanese Butoh, the practice of In Situ Mask creation and specific meditation techniques that help us dive in to the action of visual creation, using our bodies as living physical sculptures and activate the performance space as a transformed canvas.
During the procedure we will use natural materials such as as clay, flowers, spices, carbon etc. that will be used a a physical colors and sculpture materials
In the process we work in underwear of naked.

All bodies are sacred and welcome.

DAYS & HOURS
First meeting: Saturday and Sunday 22-23 of March
16.30- 22.30 (Training process)
22.30 – 23.30 (cleaning of our bodies and the studio)
There will be 4 meetings. The first meeting will take place in March, the second in April and the last two meetings, that will lead us to a long durational performance action in the end of May, will take place in May.
The dates for April and May workshops will be discussed with the group of March.

75,00 euros for the first workshop
The deposit for the reservation of the spot is 50,00 euros
For those who have participated in Movement Research Project Workshops before, there is a 20% discount.

Artists Statement
In my journey as a performance artist, I treat my body as transmitter and receiver, transformer and phenomenon of transformation, as a medium of reaction and carrier of political statement. The vehicles I have chosen to dwell in the field of art
are Japanese Butoh, Performance Art, Sculpture and Anthropological Theater.
Using elements from these four I create embodied hybrid living organisms that act as transmitters of thoughts and positions, both personal and collective.
Α key element In my workshops, is the hybridization of matter with the materiality of the body, the liquefaction of the human form and transformation. The discharge initially, of the performer from the physical occupation of the dualistic model that
polices body and imagination, reproducing right and wrong, beautiful and ugly bodies. Aiming at purification and return of the performer as "Channeler" to his primary expressive starting point.”
