Penn High School Theatre is proud to present William Shakespeare's classic tragedy, "Hamlet."In this 2 hour version, the characters are existing in a mid-20th century circus, where everyone seems to have a mask that they put on for the public eye. Hamlet, a young man in college, is dealing with the recent death of his father and remarriage of his mother to his uncle, along with new complications with his girlfriend. When the ghost of his father appears and makes some serious accusations, Hamlet's world begins to spiral out of his control.
Maintaining the original language but cutting the script down by about half, Penn Theatre students have worked hard to make this classic play accessible to those both familiar and new to the story while presenting it in the round to mirror the circus setting.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. While pre-purchasing is not required, this prouction takes place in the smaller Studio Theater, and we recommend making reservations ahead of time to guarantee seating. Tickets will be available on Hometown Ticketing.
