St. Stephen’s Community Church Music Ministry, under the direction of Brother Brysien Beer, is proud to announce the 2026 edition of “Gospel In The Key of Jazz”, taking place on Friday, May 1st at 7:30 PM at St. Stephen’s, located at 1007 Kimberly Drive, 48912 on the east side of Lansing just west of US 127 at Grand River.For more than a decade, “Gospel In The Key of Jazz” has celebrated the many voices of praise through the influence of jazz, African rhythms, and contemporary gospel. Brother Beer, a world class vocalist in his own right, has established this event as a celebration of culture, a chance to fellowship with friends and neighbors, and set a standard of performance worthy of continued support. Says Beer, “Community is what our church is about. This concert is one of the many examples of how St. Stephen’s lives its mission of sharing dynamic worship and praise experiences with the Lansing community”
Since its founding, music has been the cornerstone of praise & worship at St. Stephen’s Community Church. The St. Stephen’s Music Ministry has featured musical greats such as Brother Korede Akinlabe, Rev. Gregory Milton, MSU’s very own Rodney Whitaker, and Aneesa “Strings” Al-Musawwir.
