The annual “Get Hooked on Frankfort” Fishing Derby returns on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at scenic Prairie Park in downtown Frankfort.
This beloved catch-and-release event invites kids ages 3 to 12 to swap screens for sunshine and cast their lines into a morning full of outdoor fun. Whether it’s their first fish or their “big one” story, every participant is sure to leave with a smile (and maybe a little fishy bragging rights). Anglers will also have the chance to win prizes in each age group for both the biggest fish caught and the most fish caught—so get ready to reel in some friendly competition!

Fee: $10 for residents / $15 for non-residents
Ages 3–7:
Fishing Time: 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM
Check-in: 7:30 AM
Ages 8–12:
Fishing Time: 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM
Check-in: 8:30 AM
What’s Included:
Each registration includes a t-shirt, drink, snack, bait, and a fishing hook—just bring your favorite fishing pole and you’re good to go!
