Pleasant Valley Library and WMHT Channel 17 Albany Present a Free Preview Screening of PBS Indie Lens Pop-Up "Free for All: The Public Library," by Filmmakers Dawn Logsdon (Producer, Director, Editor) and Lucie Faulknor (Producer, Co-director)."Free for All: The Public Library" tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who made a simple idea happen. From the pioneering women behind the “Free Library Movement” to today's librarians who service the public despite working in a contentious age of closures and book bans, meet those who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all.
The Film Screening will be followed by a Discussion and Reception, with light refreshments and beverages. We invite you to share your memories of using public libraries, and how a library's books, events, librarians or services may have impacted you and your reading life. How do you feel about Pleasant Valley Library, and how can we best serve you, your interests, and needs, in the future? And share with us the titles and authors of some of your favorite books! Our Director and President of the Friends of the Library will be here to hear your feedback.
