Archaeologist Emma Stockley was recently awarded a PhD for her work on Mesolithic Dartmoor, when bands of hunter gatherers roamed the Moor. Unlike later Neolithic and Bronze Age communities they left little obvious traces but Emma's pioneering research has uncovered new evidence that has revealed a clearer picture of the the presence and activities of hunter gatherers. Organised by the Chagford Local History Society. Members have free entry. Non-members most welcome, at £5.
