"Ecology and evolution are powerful forces. By better understanding them, we can revolutionize fields ranging from medicine to machine learning. However, ecology and evolution interact with each other in complex ways that can be hard to predict. To improve our prediction ability, I work on building systems in computers that exhibit the same ecological and evolutionary dynamics we see in nature. In this talk, I'll discuss some examples of these systems, what we've learned so far, and what we're hoping to learn in the future," ~Dr. Emily Dolson
