"An Unexpected Journey" Gallery Tour takes about 90 minutes.
In the lower galleries you will hear a short presentation on the house and you will be introduced to the art and ethos of visual artist Eugen-Florin Zamfirescu.
In the upper galleries you have an opportunity to travel on an unexpected journey, exploring art inspired by Newtonian physics, quantum mechanics and the theories of relativity, as well as to see the artist's studio and some of his latest projects.
We would appreciate arrival 5 -10 minutes before your scheduled tour for check-in. We are unable to accommodate late arrivals.
This is a private home with no architectural changes since the 1870s when it was built. It still has the original hardwood floors as well as unique Persian carpets and rugs throughout so to protect it all we kindly ask guests to remove their shoes. We encourage you, if possible, to bring house shoes, soft soles. The house is not wheelchair accessible and there are no public washrooms.
Art can be appreciated at any age but please note the presentations during the tour are not all easily accessible to a young audience, therefore we suggest at least 14 years old and up (please do connect with us if you have questions).
Please travel light while visiting - no food, water, large bags, strollers, and other non-essential items. Photography and video are not permitted inside the house. You are however welcome to capture the stunning exterior. Touching the artwork or objects on display is not permitted. The space is a smoke free building.
