Photography Gallery Opening w/ Bill Phelps at the Minneapolsi Club

"A Loyal Niche" brings together the photography of Bill Phelps and the spring 2026 collection of fashion designer Joy Teiken in an exhibition that is less a collaboration than a conversation made visible. Over years of shared creative investment, the artists have developed a mutual fluency — his eye attuned to the world she conjures, her work deepened by how he has chosen to see it. The images on view do not document the fashion so much as inhabit it, offering a portrait of two artists who have quietly, faithfully, built something together.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Phelps has built an impressive career despite having no formal art training, lending his talents to Italian Vogue, French Marie Claire, Conde Nast Traveller UK, The New York Times Magazine, Fortune and Interview, and picking up both an IPA Lucie Award and the Grand Prize of Portraits for the World Press. Phelps is also the co-designer, builder and owner of Cafe Moto in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
