Inspired by the ritual cultures of Ancient Mesopotamia.
About this Event
Step into a world where earth, body, and myth are woven together through movement.
Inspired by the ritual cultures of Ancient Mesopotamia, this immersive dance experience invites participants into a landscape of temple courtyards, riverbanks, and sacred groves—where dance was not performance alone, but a living dialogue with the cosmos.
Drawing on the spirit of dance archaeology, we reimagine fragments of the past as observed on ancient images: gestures that may have once honoured the cycles of the Tigris and Euphrates, or invoked the presence of deities such as Inanna/Ishtar, goddess of love, transformation, and descent.
This is a space of fantasy and mystery, where participants become both dancer and storyteller. Through guided movement meditations, you’ll explore rhythm, breath, and the sensual intelligence of the body—not as performance for others, but as a deep, personal and creative unfolding.
Expect:
- A fusion of ancient-inspired ritual and contemporary expressive dance
- Gentle, embodied movement meditations
- Opportunities for creative exploration and collaborative performance
- A sense of romance—not as narrative alone, but as a felt connection to land, history, and self
- Drinks and healthy snacks
This offering is open to all levels and welcomes those curious about spirituality, creativity, and the power of movement to reconnect us—to ourselves, to each other, and to something beyond.
