About this Event
What to expect: Food, drinks and good conversation, on us! Wine, beer and appetizers will be provided alongside an enlightening presentation with Cayla Sweeney. Join us as Cayla guides us through these ancient teachings and histories, helping us recognize the abundance of opportunities for ritual in our daily lives, and why that matters for finding balance.
Ancient Rituals for Modern Times
The word ritual has been used in a plethora of branches of thought—from anthropology to theology to New Age spirituality—asking and answering questions about life, liminality, tradition, secularism (the list goes on and on). But what is a ritual, and how can we recognize it? Join us on June 2nd with Cayla Sweeney, who will help us better understand both the questions and the answers surrounding rituals.
Cayla Sweeney is a fellowship-awarded applied anthropologist, herbalist, and experienced registered yoga teacher. Her work spans professional archaeology, ethnographic and design research, museum curation, herbalism, yoga, and writing. She takes a grounded, interdisciplinary approach; combining anthropology, herbalism, and yoga, Cayla explores how knowledge has been passed down through history across these different practices.
Join us on June 2nd, over wine, cheese and charcuterie, as Cayla guides us through these ancient teachings and histories, helping us recognize the abundance of opportunities for ritual in our daily lives, and why that matters for finding balance.
Discover the secrets behind timeless traditions and see how they're woven into our modern lives. Whether you're curious or a ritual enthusiast, this event promises a fun and eye-opening experience. Don’t miss out on connecting with others who share your interest in the mystical and the historic!
