Enjoy food, drinks, raffles, and MORE at this fundraiser benefitting Children's Home Association of Illinois! Club member, Jarod Reatherford, has combined passion with purpose and is climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro THIS JUNE to raise funds and awareness for Children's Home, a local organization that helps the kids and families who need it most.
THE CAMPAIGN
Four adventurers from central Illinois will “climb to new heights” by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro while raising funds and awareness to support 20+ programs and services across 5 key divisions at Children’s Home Association of Illinois.
Participants (like Jarod) commit to raising a minimum of $16,000 during the campaign (in celebration of the 160th anniversary of Children's Home). Every dollar raised through Climb for Kids fuels more than 20 life changing programs that create safety, healing, and opportunity for 1,800 kids and families every single month.
THE ADVENTURE
From June 6-June 14, participants take on an unforgettable summit of Mount Kilimanjaro via the 8-day Lemosho Route, known for its scenery, wildlife, and high success rate due to gradual acclimatization. They will ascend through five ecological zones—from rainforest to alpine desert to snow and Summit Uhuru Peak (19,341 ft) at sunrise—Africa’s highest point.
WHY IT MATTERS
Every step on the mountain supports life changing services for children facing trauma, instability, and mental or behavioral health challenges. Participants elevate the mission, the message, and the impact.
