Ancestress: Performance & Ceremony

This is more than a performance. It is a cermony, a meditation-in-motion, an experimental collaborative art project, hyptonic prayer to the divine feminine and a love letter to the ritual nature of Craft.

Step through a threshold into the kiln space—a womb of sound and movement where certainty is sparse. Where clay, cloth and paper are alchemized into patterns and performative objects. Join us as we dance and sing through the grief, weave, sculpt and and scatter the seeds of renewal.

This performance is the culminating event of the 2026 The Performance Art Intensive. Twenty participants spend one week immersed in ritual artmaking, elder wisdom, poetry, plant medicine, meditation, movement, mentorship, set-building. These folx became the cast and crew of Ancestress. We welcome you to witness the fruits of our labor.

Creator and Director Summer Hills-Bonczyk offers an event that combines her training in Ceramic Art, Education, Yoga and Sacred Ritual.
