But this is more than a performance. It is a cermony, a meditation-in-motion, an experimental collaborative art project, a hyptonic prayer to the divine feminine.

Join us for a somatic and sonic journey as we re-member our sacred entanglement with the forces that animate our broken and beautiful world. Step through a threshold into the kiln space—a womb of sound and movement where certainty is sparse; where clay, cloth, and paper are alchemized into patterns, figures and performative objects. We will dance and move through our grief, weave, sculpt and scatter the seeds of renewal.

Ancestress is the culminating event of the 2026 Performance Art Intensive. Twenty participants spend one week immersed in artmaking, self-inquiry, poetry, plant medicine, movement, mentorship and community. We welcome you to witness the fruits of our labor!

PAI creator/director Summer Hills-Bonczyk, along with an interdisciplinary team of teachers and artists, offers an event that combines her training and experienece in ceramic art, performance, sculpture, poetry, yoga and sacred ritual.
