About this Event

This workshop, hosted by members of the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, is a vibrant celebration of World Anatomy Day, which aims to provide attendees with an understanding of human anatomy through interactive and engaging activities held across the afternoon, such as:

  1. Looking into the science of facial expression and getting creative to sculpt your own muscles (1400-1430)
  2. Using a variety of different plastic models of the brain to learn about the brain's role in movement, sensation, and other sensory areas (1430-1500)


- 15 MINUTE BREAK -


  1. Delving into the world of digital anatomy using virtual reality and augmented reality software (1515-1545)
  2. Exploring the microscopic structure of the skin and different parts of the gut tube to learn how structure relates to function (1545-1615)


This event is aimed at 16-18 year olds with an interest in biological, medical, and/or health sciences, taking place in: Museum Annexe, Natural History Museum, Oxford

This World Anatomy Day 2024 event is supported by a Public Engagement & Outreach Award from the Anatomical Society.
