This is a 3 part series into the Anatomy of Trauma! Join Rachael for all 3 or drop in for as many as you'd like. Expect discussion around trauma and how it is stored and processed in the body, as well as practices to support the discussion.In this First part we will unpack the anatomy of trauma in the brain, discussing neuroplasticity, and the vagus nerve.
This discussion will be followed by a yin practice, meditation, and journaling.
Part 2 of Anatomy of trauma we will talk about shock, internal family systems, as well as the PSOAS -“the spirit muscle”.
This will be followed by a yin practice, guided meditation, journaling, and diads or one on one/group sharing.
Part 3 of this series we will discuss Hara the island of safety, spiritual path of IFS purpose and method, and Dukka the first noble truth. This will be followed by a yin practice, meditation, and journaling.
Students will need to bring a yoga mat, water, any special yin props from home that you might like (we will have some available as well), and a notebook for journal prompts.
