About this Event
Anastasi Siotas is offering a 4-day, in-person intensive exploring how refined organization of the pelvis and hip transforms function throughout the entire lower extremity. This 20-hour workshop integrates lecture, ATM®, and FI® into a focused, experiential study of the connections from pelvis to feet. Anastasi will clarify how pelvic and hip organization shapes force transmission, coordination, and adaptability—supporting more precise observation, differentiation, and effective ways to practice.
FGNA Members Early Bird $300 - paid before May 1st, $360 - if paid afterwards : FM Trainees $180 : Canadian Members $250 : Non Guild Member Practitioners - $430
In October 2025, Anastasi underwent a total right hip replacement via the anterior approach at HSS. His process of restoring full function has provided him with direct, lived insight into the application of the Feldenkrais Method® in post-surgical rehabilitation. Drawing from his own recovery, he will present a detailed exploration of the structural and functional relationships of the hip, leg, and foot as they relate to organization in movement. This anatomical context will support a deeper understanding of how he utilized Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) in his self-directed practice, as well as what he received through Functional Integration® (FI).
Particular attention will be given to issues relevant to practitioners: differentiating habitual compensation from functional adaptation, refining pelvic organization in gait, and clarifying the role of the foot in transmitting force through the whole self. He will also discuss how he integrated ATM and FI with walking and swimming to restore variability, reduce effort, and reestablish ease and continuity in action.
In this 4-day intensive, practitioners will experience a progression of ATM lessons and engage with principles directly applicable to working with clients recovering from joint replacement. The workshop offers a framework for supporting coherent, adaptable movement—toward full functional recovery without residual limping!
