11am-6pm

The Introductory Weekend is open to anyone who wants to acquaint themselves with the ANAR DANA Project and Helene Eriksen's work. Intro attendees will view videos or photos of and try out several different dance styles from North Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans, Anatolia, the Caucasus, Iran, and Central Asia.
Attendees will also have the chance to ask any questions about the Project, its goals, and its procedures.
At the end of the weekend, attendees and Helene will pick seven dance styles -- one from each region -- that will form the basis for the Training Project.
Intro attendees are not required to join the Project, and the workshop offers an excellent survey of dance across the various regions represented.
