About this Event
Paices Wood Country Parkland is a former gravel extraction site consisting of extensive woodland, grassland, several lakes and a small area of heathland in a narrow valley just outside Aldermaston. It is privately owned by Youngs and is managed in agreement with the West Berkshire Council
We will explore the woodland rides and open areas, looking for spring butterflies and day-flying moths, as well as a variety of other wildlife. We hope we will see both Dingy Skipper and Grizzled Skipper.
Accessibility & risks: mostly easy walking on firm paths. Toilet facilities on site. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks.
Please check here the evening before the walk to make sure it is going ahead as planned. This page will be updated regularly.
Meet at the main car park, through Young’s Industrial Estate.
