Explore the beauty of watercolours in this engaging four-week class designed for beginners. Learn basic colour theory, mixing skills, and brush techniques as you explore this highly accessible medium. Watercolour is a graceful medium, as light emanates from beneath the surface, connecting the painter and viewer to the multiple layers of translucent colours. This course will teach basic techniques specific to watercolour, as well as the fundamental principles that relate to all great design and composition. You will have the opportunity to put these principles and techniques into practice, so they start to become intuitive.

Materials: Participants are encouraged to bring their own watercolour set and brushes. If this is a barrier for your participation, classroom supplies will be provided.
Instructor: Alina Karmadanova
Alina is a painter born in Siberia (Russia). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Design. From 2018 to 2023 she worked and lived in Shanghai, China. From 2022 to 2024 Alina studied at Falmouth University (UK) and received her master’s degree in Illustration online. She graduated from New Brunswick College of Craft and Design with an advanced studio practice certificate. She exhibited her art in galleries in Russia, China, the UK, the USA and Canada over the past 6 years.
