Introducing the Malvern French Film Festival is Dr Fiona Handyside, Associate Professor of Film Studies at the University of Exeter and a true Franco-Cinephile. Fiona has lived and worked in France and written extensively about many aspects of French cinema, including the filmmakers Agnès Varda, Céline Sciamma, Diane Kurys and Mia Hansen-Løve.
She is a highly engaging and knowledgable speaker who should not be missed. She also admits to a special soft spot for films that feature donkeys, more about which will be revealed in her introduction to Antoinette dans les Cévennes (My Donkey, My Lover And I), on Sunday morning. She will be providing a short introduction to each film throughout the weekend, illuminating the audience’s viewing beyond the norm.
This event is free to anyone with a ticket to one of the Malvern Film Festival films.
