The Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) and the Association of Cypriot Archaeologists (ACA) are co-organizing a workshop on understanding and analysing ground stone tools, entitled:'An introduction to ground stone'
The workshop by Dr. Ellon M. Souter will introduce participants to the diverse ground stone industries of Cyprus, with the key aim of promoting on-site identification of this artefact class.
The workshop will include a brief presentation and a practical session where participants will have the chance to handle prehistoric ground stone artefacts. Attendees will learn about methods of crafting and use and consider what ground stone objects can tell us about past societies.
The workshop will take place at The Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) and it is offered free of charge.
