About this Event
Join your favourite local space for women+ to celebrate International Women's Day with an evening of sharing our stories and rhythms through music, poetry and conversation. This years theme is all about generosity and collaboration #GiveToGain.
The Performances
We'll have performances from singer-songwriter Farzané Zamen and our Women+ Make Noise! Choir. The choir have been working with Farzané to learn and write music together so it's set to be a magical performance.
The Open Mic
We'll have 6-8 open mic slots available (5-minutes each) for you to perform. Poetry, music, comedy - whatever it is, the mic is yours!
Eat, eat, eat!
We're hatching plans to bring you a delicious meal from one of our favourite social enterprises and cafes in Glasgow. Salads, sandwiches and finger foods packed with flavour. Plus, enjoy sweet treats from a local bakery. There will also be hot and cold drinks available.
Dance and chat
We always have time for dancing and chatting for the last half an hour. Perfect for the whole family.
Pay what you can!
We need your support now more than ever so if you can pay for a ticket or add a donation, you'll be helping a small charity support women+ keep going (and enjoying a good night out along the way!) If you don't have any money to spare, get a free ticket, no questions asked.
OTHER DETAILS
Children: Children are welcome to join us. All children must be supervised by a parent/caregiver.
Transport: The hub is a12 minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Station and the main bus routes. There is a large car park in front of the building.
Funded by: This project is generously funded by One Ren - Paisley Arts Festival and IN-Ren Micro Grants.
Accessibility information: the hub is on the 4th floor, accessible via a lift. There will be people around to greet you at the entrance, and again when you reach the 4th floor.
