In March 1993, a small, all volunteer folk music club opened its doors and began presenting folk, acoustic, and blue’s music to Lansdowne and the surrounding communities. The founders never envisioned the club would make it past the first year, but now, over 30 years later the Lansdowne Folk Club has become a stalwart in the folk music scene.
In a short time the LFC was presenting both national and international performers. All folk club concerts take place in the recently renovated ballroom of Lansdowne’s “Twentieth Century Club,” a Victorian-era jewel, at 84 S. Lansdowne Avenue in Lansdowne, PA.
The Close, /klōs/ is an original genre blending trio and collective of introspective lyricists known for their genre-blending melodies and stellar harmonies whose harmonies are a testament to their musical skill and attention to detail. Their music is both beautiful and engaging, sophisticated and accessible, and delivers a captivating performance every time. Their live performances are always a joy to experience.
