Poet and political commentator Robert L. Arnold will speak at Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, on the campus of Vincennes University, on Saturday, March 28, at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. with live music and light refreshments in the lobby.The event is free to the public and will also feature appearances by Indiana Secretary of State candidate Blythe Potter, plus all candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. House of Representatives 8th District—Mary Allen, Mario Foradori, Christopher Rector, and Tabitha Zeigler. Local candidates for city, township, and precinct offices will be on hand to speak with attendees.
Arnold, a native of Helena, Ark., is known for his laid-back and thought-provoking commentary on Southern life, politics and social justice. His writings are pro-working class, and explore themes of capitalism, racial justice and the American Dream.
Arnold presents his commentaries on YouTube, TikTok and other social media platforms under his handle @defiance13. His work includes the book “Defiance Til Death,” a tag line with which he often concludes his posts.
