This year marks 30 years since Boro left Ayresome Park, and we’re turning back the clock to relive those final years at the old ground. Expect plenty of nostalgic moments as Neil and Steve share their experiences of playing at Ayresome, the electric atmosphere, and how it all compared to the brand-new Riverside Stadium that followed. It’s a rare chance to hear firsthand memories of the transition that shaped modern-day Boro.
Neil Cox, Boro’s first-ever £1 million signing, opens up about his time at the club, including what really went on behind the scenes in the lead-up to the 1997 FA Cup Final—from the pressure of the big stage to dealing with characters like Fabrizio Ravanelli.
Steve Vickers, with a rock-solid 258 appearances for the club, shares his unique perspective from the heart of Boro’s defence during some of its most iconic seasons—from promotion to Premier League battles, and everything in between.
Guiding the evening is the always charismatic Jeff Winter, bringing energy, humour, and plenty of sharp questions as he hosts a night packed with banter, honest stories, and audience interaction.
