No, we are not going to be in the living room for 5 months.March to August are acoustic storytellers crafting songs that offer
meaning, spark thought and invite you to listen a little closer.
Their sound draws comparisons to acclaimed duos like Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Watchhouse, and Shovels & Rope—artists known for compelling songwriting, rich vocal harmonies, and stripped-down acoustic instrumentation. Blending Folk, Americana, and Bluegrass with an intimate, roots-driven style, their music features thought-provoking lyrics, intricate guitar and banjo work, and a rhythmic foundation powered by bass and stomp box—creating a sound that’s both timeless and deeply personal.
Their latest record, Songs Inspired by Witness, received strong
reviews and debuted as one of the top 50 albums on the Alternative Country and Folk charts. They tour extensively across the US, bringing their signature storytelling and sound to audiences far and wide.
Please join us Saturday, April 25, 2025! Doors open at 6:30PM with the concert starting at 7:00ish. BRING YOUR CASH! The recommended donation is $25 (you can always pay more!) and you can pay when you get here. All proceeds will go to the artists!
Our venue has 28 seats available --- and there's standing room - just to give you a sense of possible audience size. Please select GOING to confirm you're planning to attend so we can get an idea of how many to expect.
REMINDER: This is a HOUSE CONCERT...not a house party.
If you have not attended a Rainwater House Concert Series show before, here are a few things to know:
1. It is BYOB! The RHCS Happy Machine will be loaded and ready (it'll be Rum) - and please bring whatever other libations you prefer. We will have an ice chest for you to keep it cold if needed. (Drink Responsibly)
2. Bring a dish to share. It can be chips and dip, cookies, an order of wings, a personally prepared dish (our favorite), or anything you think people will like. We will have SOME snacks, but there may not be enough to feed everyone.
3. This is not a bar venue. We disapprove of talking during the performance, and we appreciate giving your undivided attention to our entertainers during the performance. If you need to talk, please go outside.
4. If you came to hear cover songs, you’ve come to the wrong place. This is for the artists to show off their original music. They may play some covers throughout the night, but it won't be the focus.
5. Silence your phones. Give some respect.
6. We do not CHARGE for admission. We ask for donations, but if you are there to listen to the artist, then you need to pay up (it is not fair to the artist for you to get something for nothing, and they give something and get nothing). This is the artist's livelihood. They aren't here for their health. THERE MAY BE MERCH - so bring extra $$$$
7. Enjoy yourself. Meet new friends through music. And most of all HAVE FUN! We know WE will!
