Luca Fogale’s 2016 debut, Safety, introduced an indie-folk phenom with a fine-tuned ear for warm, wool-sweater melodies, richly rendered narratives and intimate autumnal ambiance. Fogale graduated from the proverbial coffeehouse to the concert hall, recasting his private conversations as cinematic set pieces for his Juno nominated 2020 follow-up Nothing Is Lost through a palette of synth-washed atmospheres, orchestral flourishes, and lush ‘70s soft-rock arrangements. His 2023 album Run Where the Light Calls reflects a "kind of hope in spite of something; an idea of leaving nothing behind and rising from situations you’re stuck in.” Fogale’s songwriting keeps drilling down into the deepest corners of his soul, as he reckons with spiritual and existential crises in search of inner peace and redemption.
