Information
Linda Mironti (Singer/Performer, Chef, Director of Il Chiostro)Lindas first voice teacher was her Grandmother Angelina, who taught herItalian folk songs at the same time showing her how to make homemadegnocchi and pasta. In the 3rd grade Linda made her solo debut in Mrs. Springers music classconcert and from then on she followed her passion for music through collegeand to New York City. In the 80s she was called to Italy where she starredin TV shows, recordings and concert tours from Milan to Sicily.Ironically, for the 7 years she performed in Italy she sang mostly blues, jazz, rhythm and blues, and original pop material; she wrote lyrics for herself andfor many other artists. It wasnt until her return to New York City in the mid 90s that she was ableto include her favorite Italian songs in her performances.Following the recipe from her grandmothers kitchen, food was love, andmaking good food was one of her passions. She attended The Art Institute ofNew York and cooking became another form of artistic expression for her.In 1995 Linda, and her business partner, Michael Mele, started Il Chiostro. Here she was able to combine both of her passions, and for the last 30 yearshas been organizing creative workshops in the arts in various places in Italy.Linda enjoys the best of both her worlds, sharing her love for Italy andsinging in numerous venues across the US she is especially excited tofinally be singing in her home town on May 16th!!!!!
