Join us for an evening Americana, blues & roots music performed by award-winning and official musical ambassador of Macon, Georgia, Joey Stuckey, featuring special guest Ben Holst at Atlanta's famed 800 East Studios.

Joey Stuckey is a blind guitarist, songwriter, singer, composer, producer, radio and television personality, music columnist, educator and sound engineer. He has toured nationally with The Joey Stuckey Band and opened for legendary artists including Smashmouth, Wet Willie, Lee Brice, Trisha Yearwood, James Brown, Ted Nugent, Bad Company, The B52’s, Clarence Carter, Kevin Kenny, and many more.

About Joey Stuckey:

When you hear Joey Stuckey sing - you can hear generations of influences in his piercing tenor that has Southern “grit” to it. Joey sings from his guts as he always has since his first vocalizations as a child - now an award-winning songwriter, producer and exciting live performer. When you hear Joey play the guitar you hear the influence of Jimi, Jeff, Duane along with a collection of many other musicians who have influenced Joey to be the outrageous and dynamic player he is today. He plays with fire, passion and a deep commitment to being authentic to his Southern roots and his love of music from rock to classical to blues, folk, Americana, alternative and jazz. You hear a world of music in his guitar playing. When you hear a track that Joey has produced, you hear performers unleashed and empowered to do their best. Joey doesn’t live in a world of limitations. He lives in a world of possibility and potential. Despite losing his sight and his sense of smell as an infant (as the result of a brain tumor), nothing stops Joey from pursuing his life and his music.

Joey has won and been awarded a number of honors including being a Governor of the Board of Trustees to the Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy. Joey has played a major role in Macon, Georgia (as the official music ambassador)and is someone committed to making a difference for the artists of the area as well as musicians and creative people from all over the south who have been inspired by Joey’s passionate music and inspirational speaking. Joey is a special person. He graduated high school at 14 and his voracious appetite for knowledge and learning has not diminished. Joey has taught, guest-lectured and done special presentations at colleges, universities, schools, churches and various organizations all over the world. His ability to connect with people and to draw on his experiences has endeared him to generations of students, teachers and thought leaders.

Joey and his wife Jennifer (a retired nurse midwife) operate Shadow Sound Studio in Macon, Georgia. It is a space dedicated to capturing and creating great recordings of great music with an extensive collection of vintage recording equipment and state-of-the-art gear that ensures that everything that Joey does sounds world class.

Joey and his band, The Joey Stuckey Band, perform nationally. They have opened for legendary artists such as Smashmouth, Wet Willie, Lee Brice, Trisha Yearwood, James Brown, Ted Nugent, Bad Company, The B52’s, Clarence Carter, Kevin Kenny and many more.

As a producer and engineer, Joey has worked with Al Chez, Chuck Leavell, Randall Bramblett, Mike Mills, Jimmy Herring, David Ragsdale, Hughie Thomasson.


About Ben Holst

Ben Holst has been a career musician, producer, engineer and composer in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. He came up musically in Athens, GA, co-founded Tunewelders – an award winning music and audio production company, and later re-opened the historic Southern Tracks Recording Studio in Atlanta. Recent accolades include: composer on the animated Netflix series The Liberator; co-producer on Grammy-nominated India Arie’s SongVersation: Medicine; writer and performer on the theme song for season 9 of Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs; Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter Board of Governors; recording engineer on the filmed concert special Indigo Girls Look Long: Together.

Ben’s performance credits include guitar and upright bass for renowned violinist Bobby Yang, guitarist for Michelle Malone, pedal steel for Avery Sunshine and current guitarist, pedal steel, and mandolinist for Atlanta band Quiet Hounds. Ben is also an active contributor to the Alchemy Sky Veteran's Music Project - a songwriting program for Veterans.
