Friday 21st November: AN EVENING WITH IAN PARKS AND FRIENDS7.30 pm, The Basement, City Screen Picturehouse, York YO1 9QL
Navigators Art and Crooked Spire Press spotlight the celebrated Yorkshire poet IAN PARKS, who'll be reading works from his new collection The Sons of Darkness and the Sons of Light, published this October.
Ian has been described as “the finest love poet of his generation”, though his work vigorously addresses the political as well as the personal.
He'll be accompanied by his chosen guests, award-winning York poet and novelist Janet Dean, distinguished poet and critic Matthew Paul, and multi-instrumentalist folksinger-songwriter Jane Stockdale, from local alt-folk trio White Sail.
This rich and rewarding evening will include a conversation between Ian and publisher Tim Fellows. The bar will be open and we hope to adjourn for a chat after the show with anyone who'd like to join us.
Advance booking only £5. Tickets will also be available on the door at £8.
Books will be available for purchase. The venue is fully accessible.
