About this Event
This event is part of the Yorkshire Festival of Story.
David Almond’s work has transformed the lives of generations of children. The bestselling author of Skellig, which has just celebrated its 25th anniversary, My Name is Mina and Island, David’s work can be found in every library in the country. His work offers space for young people to connect with characters who have also experienced love, loss and loneliness, and turned to adventure and hope.
David joins us for a special in-person in conversation at Barnsley Library to celebrate a lifetime in literature. We’ll be talking about the power of storytelling in changing the lives of young people around the world and all that he’s learned from a life of storytelling. David will be interviewed by author and comedian Matt Coyne, the man behind parenting blog Man vs Baby.
This event is available to attend both in-person at Barnsley Library and via stream online.
