Get ready for an unforgettable night of music and stories as The Real People's Chris & Tony bring their special “An Evening With…” show to The Old Courts Courtroom this September.
Formed in 1988 by brothers Tony and Chris Griffiths, The Real People are one of the UK’s most respected and influential indie bands. From their self-titled debut album featuring classics like “Window Pane” and “Open Up Your Mind”, to the Top 40 hit “Believer”, their sound helped define an era. Over the years, they’ve toured the world, played Glastonbury, and shared stages with iconic acts including David Bowie and The Pixies.
Whilst touring with Inspiral Carpets, Chris and Tony took the then Inspirals roadie Noel Gallagher under their wing, along with his brother Liam and the rest of Oasis. The Real People, known by fans as "The Realies", invited Oasis into their studio to develop and record the new band, resulting in the now famous Live Demonstration Tape which subsequently secured them a major deal with Alan McGee and Creation Records.
