About this Event
Dylan Thomas is one of most beloved poets of the twentieth century. Richly melodious and expressive, Thomas's poems strike to the heart of eternal themes of living and dying, of childhood days lost and the vigorous beauty of nature. With restless creativity, he made the English language anew and his work inspired countless artists from Igor Stravinsky to Bob Dylan.
In this new selection, Cerys Matthews brings together poems from across Thomas's career - including some of his very earliest works - to showcase the blossoming of his singular poetic voice. Full of lush imagery and unforgettable lines, this is the perfect introduction to a remarkable writer.
Cerys Matthews is a musician, author and broadcaster. She was a founding member of the multi-million-selling band Catatonia and currently hosts and programmes an award winning radio show on BBC 6 Music every Sunday. In 2022, she adapted Thomas's Under Milk Wood into a new edition for children. She has received a St David Award and an MBE for her services to culture.
The Book & Ticket bundle includes a copy of Out of Chaos Comes Bliss (RRP £12.99) for collection on the evening.
