Greenlight celebrates the work of independent romance publisher 831 Stories featuring five of its authors, in conversation about their books and the genre, at this exciting Bravo reunion-style event! Launched in 2024, 831 was founded on the belief that joy and pleasure reading serve a fundamental purpose. Inspired by the enthusiasm, empathy, curiosity, and open-mindedness of the romance fandom, 831 strives to share love stories that are expansive, immersive, and delightful; and that bring happiness and horniness to a world that could use more of both.
Their featured authors include Upasna Barath, author of Comedic Timing, a steamy romance about a queer woman's off-type attraction and the identity crisis that follows; Cat Disabato, author of Rooting Interest, a queer romance that will leave you breathless until the last buzzer, for fans of will-they-won’t-they courtship and women’s sports; Eliza Dumais, author of Grape Juice, a seductive debut about parsing romantic clarity amidst the mind-muddling effects of fermented grapes, the French language, and exhausting physical labor; Lana Schwartz, author of Set Piece, a second-chance celebrity/normal person romance for fans of Romantic Comedy and Notting Hill (so, everyone?!); and Erika Veurink, author of Exit Lane, a decade-long romance that begins with a post-graduation drive from Iowa City to New York—reminiscent of When Harry Met Sally, One Day, and People We Meet on Vacation. Lindsey Weber, writer and co-host of the podcast Who? Weekly, moderates the discussion before an audience Q&A and signing—just in time for Valentine's Day!
