An evening of Kirtan with Toronto's Kirtan Culture Initiative

Join us for a deeply immersive evening of sacred sound and devotional song with the Kirtan Culture Initiative, a Toronto-based group dedicated to sharing the timeless practice of kirtan — the yoga of musical mantra meditation.

Kirtan is a heart-opening form of call-and-response chanting rooted in the Bhakti tradition, where voices come together in song as a pathway to inner stillness, joy, and transcendence. Backed by live instrumentation including harmonium, mridanga, and kartals, the Kirtan Culture Initiative weaves together ancient Sanskrit mantras with soulful melodies and uplifting rhythms that invite you to sing, sway, or simply soak it all in.

Whether you are brand new to this practice or a longtime lover of kirtan, all are welcome to take part in this shared devotional experience. There is no need to have any prior knowledge of the mantras — simply come with an open heart and a willingness to listen and connect.

Please note: This will be strictly an adult-only gathering, open to guests 18 and older only.
