Asif Khan, vocal and harmonium; Asif is proficient in Indian classical, semi-classical, bhajans, and ghazals, he is a versatile young performer. Naturally gifted with a melodious voice he will make is South Asia Institute debut performing and evening of Ghazals , Asif Khan also harmonizes with Kathak luminaries, enriching their performances with depth and richness. After earning his master's in music, Asif taught at the Global International Indian School in Ahmedabad. Currently, he shares his expertise at the Kalavant Center for Music and Dance in New York City, NY preserving and promoting South Asian traditional music and dance, with a focus on India's classical traditions. Karamat Khan Kalavant, tabla; A descendant of Ustad Rehman Khan Sahab, Karamat Khan acquired tabla training from his father, Ustad Firoz Khan, and grandfather, Ustad Kadar Khan, a pioneering tabla player in the USA. Karamat mastered the Purab style of tabla, a fusion of diverse gharanas; he emerged as a young, passionate percussionist making a name for himself in the music world. His extraordinary skill in layakari and mastery of tabla rhythms captivates and entrances audiences.
