About Bargemone WInery:
Domaine Bargemone is one of Provence’s most historic wine estates, with roots dating back to the 13th century when it was founded around an important Templar commandery. Originally cultivated by the Knights Templar and later passed through several noble Provençal families—including Thomassin Bargemon, whose name the estate bears—the land has been devoted to viticulture for centuries. After vineyards were replanted in 1968 following phylloxera damage, the modern estate began to take shape.
In 2019, Bargemone entered a new chapter when it was acquired by the Einaudi family. Today, the estate is led by Pierre Einaudi, a grandson and great‑grandson of winemakers, supported by his family and a team of passionate experts. Together, they bring renewed energy to Bargemone, guided by values of excellence, sharing, and ecological responsibility. Located just outside Aix‑en‑Provence in Saint‑Cannat, the 120‑hectare vineyard is surrounded by preserved flora, meadows, and wildlife, creating a thriving natural ecosystem.
Fully farmed under Organic Agriculture practices and certified HVE 3 (High Environmental Value), Bargemone emphasizes healthy soils, careful replanting, and respect for diverse Provençal terroirs. Clay‑limestone, silt, and rocky soils across several sites contribute structure, balance, and finesse to the wines. In the cellar, traditional techniques are paired with modern precision: parcel‑by‑parcel vinification, blending for harmony, temperature‑controlled fermentation, limited sulfite use, and oak aging where appropriate. The result is a collection of elegant, well‑balanced rosés, whites, and reds that express both the character of Provence and the estate’s deep commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and the joy of sharing exceptional wine.
