Welcome to An Evening for : Sharing the Gift of Literacy in East Africa! Join us for a special in-person event at Maroush St John's Wood | Crockers Folly. We are coming together to support literacy initiatives in East Africa and make a difference in the lives of children. This evening will be filled with inspiring stories, live music, delicious food, and a silent auction. Your presence will help us spread the joy of reading and education to those in need. Mirembe Words of Wisdom (501c3) started with the vision of Ugandan Native Yvonne Ssempijja. After seeing the lack of books in schools in rural Uganda, Ms. Yvonne brought a suitcase of donated books back with her on her next trip. This simple idea has spread to over 40 schools, serving over 14,000 children and over 10,000 books donated. Through reading instruction, reading competitions, environmental activities, and sports, Mirembe provides the gift of literacy to children in rural communities across East Africa.
