About this Event
Please join us in Amsterdam for an afternoon with Sue Deagle, who will present her book . Sue will talk about her work, answer your questions, and sign the book afterwards.
About the book:
As featured in the Wall Street Journal, Virginia-based writer and widow Sue Deagle now publishes the essential guide to navigating loss.
If you're reading this, chances are that you - or someone you know - has lost something. Not your keys or umbrella. Something more. A job. A marriage or a relationship. A child leaving home. Your health or identity. Some losses we anticipate, others completely blindside us.
Sue Deagle's loss was sudden and life changing. With no roadmap, She turned to philosophers, scientists, even the military for guidance. Now, she shares her unique approach and provides the tools, strategies and mindset to help you move forward. Discover:
-The 3 common phases: cocoon, adapt and emerge
- An innovative playbook to draw from
- Ways to better support others
The latest addition to the popular Do Books collection, Do Loss will help you find a pathway through, towards a different kind of great.
About the author:
Sue Deagle was born and raised in Pennsylvania steel country and spent three decades in corporate leadership, most recently as Chief Growth Officer for a publicly traded company. Her favorite work was with veterans and active-duty military around the globe, who taught her life-changing lessons about resilience, community, and what actually helps people navigate the hard stuff.
Unexpectedly widowed in midlife, Sue often says her life has been defined but not diminished by loss. Her book Do Loss—part memoir, part companion—grew from her search for real wisdom about grief, and how life reshapes itself around what's missing. Because while life after loss will never be the same, it can be a different kind of great.
Sue approaches life with an irreverent sense of humor and a hard-won appreciation for human connection. When she's not visiting her grown kids on their world adventures, you can find her in her Virginia treehouse, planning her next adventure, hiking the Potomac, or working on her next book: A memoir about her 500-kilometer walk on a Scandinavian pilgrim path, and what surfaces when you finally get quiet enough to listen.
