About this Event
New Culture Forum Senior Fellow Rafe Heydel-Mankoo is a well-known historian and broadcaster who specialises in British identity & sovereignty, the Monarchy, immigration and the culture wars. You may know him from his weekly appearances on national and international television. But did you know he is also half Polish?
After enjoying an a la carte Polish lunch in the Polish restaurant, attendees will hear Rafe deliver a talk entitled: Poland - Europe's Unexpected Success Story. What Lessons for Britain?
He will discuss Poland's tragic past and how that has inspired and informed many of the decisions that have ensured its success today and in the future. He believes the experiences of Poland and other nations that lived behind the Iron Curtain provide useful lessons for Britain and the West.
In the latter half of the twentieth century, Poles were inspired by and dreamed of one day becoming like Britain and the West. In the twenty-first century, many in Britain and the West are now looking to Poland for inspiration. Rafe will explain why this is - and what key lessons Britain and the West can learn - and ideally implement.
The lunch & talk followed by Q&A will end at 4pm. However, for those who wish to continue socialising, you are welcome to stay for an additional social hour until 5pm so that people have a chance to chat and mingle.
PLEASE NOTE: £15 is the cost of the ticket for Rafe's talk. This helps us cover the hire costs, deposit etc. for the venue. Attendees will order and pay for their own food and drink separately from the restaurant on the day itself.
