Adam Johnson is a multi prize-winning pianist who was a Scholar and Junior Fellow at The Royal Northern College of Music, studying under esteemed mentors such as Martin Roscoe. He made his concerto debut at 15, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 15 in St. Petersburg. His exceptional talent earned him the Sema Group Contemporary Performance Prize for his rendition of Lowell Lieberman’s Concerto No. 1.
As a prize-winning composer, Adam Johnson studied with renowned composers at the Royal Northern College of Music and appeared in masterclasses with notable figures like Steve Martland and John McCabe. His compositions have been performed internationally, including his 2nd String Quartet, which premiered at the Montepulciano Festival in Italy. Adam’s works have been commissioned by prestigious ensembles, showcasing his ability to blend classical inspiration with contemporary creativity.
In addition to his accomplishments as a pianist and composer, Adam Johnson is also a versatile and dynamic conductor. He founded the Northern Lights Symphony Orchestra in 2007, where he serves as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, captivating London audiences. Adam’s international conducting career began at the age of 15 in St. Petersburg, and he has since held prominent positions with various orchestras and opera companies. His accolades include the Ricordi Operatic Conducting Prize and significant contributions to contemporary theatre and opera productions.

Jo has become widely recognised in the UK as a specialist in woodwind and brass accompaniment and currently holds the position of Head of Accompaniment in Wind and Brass Studies at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Jo accompanies regularly for the British Flute Society, Dublin Brass Week, National Youth Orchestra, and is the official pianist for Bromsgrove International Young Musicians Competition. Jo has had the pleasure of performing with many of the world’s leading players in their field including Phil Cobb, Rex Richardson, Peter Moore, Allen Vizzutti, Ian Bousfield, Zoltan Kiss, David Childs, Nicholas Daniel and Michael Collins. Away from her work at RBC, Jo loves building Lego, drawing, and going on long walks with her two cocker spaniels, Blossom and Brolly, and taking them on holidays to the Isles of Scilly.
