---More about Restrung---
The 2025 winner of Maine's Got Talent, Amy learns five songs weekly on her ukulele, a self-prescribed music therapy after a brain injury caused by Lyme disease she never knew she had.
After a six-year progression from psychosis and wheelchair, to walker, to cane, back to her feet, Amy was still struggling with her speech when she intuited that practicing something requiring multiple simultaneous tasks might build new neuropathways. Within a week of playing the ukulele, Amy's normal-for-her speech returned except in environments where her brain is overstimulated. Amy shares her story and cover songs on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, where one of her videos has over 600K views.
Restrung is follower-requested and -titled, inspired by how Amy "restrung" her brain playing the ukulele and restrung the cover songs she sings. This album, featuring 12 of the 650+ songs she has covered, is home-recorded and produced by Amy, all songs performed by herself (vocals, ukulele, and in one song, a brass glockenspiel), except for "Cruel Summer" which features bass and keyboard by Joe Sweeney and violin by Vanessa Jones.

Consider making a donation toward Amy’s transportation during her album and book tour. She is still unable to drive but wants to do all she can to share her story and raise awareness about the dangers of Lyme disease. You can use Venmo (Amy-Curtis-117; 3390) or Paypal (amy@amystaceycurtis), indicating that the money is a straight donation. Or you can send another $15 for a second CD, for those who can’t afford one.
