Amtrak is celebrating it's 55th Anniversary on May 1st!
NOTE. Please, only respond if you ARE going to join us, I kinda need a hard count for this trip for planing.
Love to have you join us for a day trip to Wisconsin Dells WI. This year we are doing two different trains! We are going to take the Amtrak's Borealis train from Red Wing to Wisconsin Dells, and then take the Empire Builder back to Red Wing. (People from anywhere between St. Paul, and the Dells are welcome to join the group!). You'll have just under 3 hours to explore the near by downtown area from the station.
The round trip ticket is about $65 to $80 per person, and you can book online at amtrak.com, or call in 1-800-872-7245. (Price can change day to day, and couuld be higher as the dates gets closer).
When you're booking. make sure you get the correct trains.
Red Wing to Wisconsin Dells, Book Borealis, Train #1340 for our trip down.
Wisconsin Dells to Red Wing, Book Empire Builder, train #7 or 27.(Whatever is the cheaper ticket cost, book that train.)
Train leave Red Wing about 12:37 pm, and arrives at the Dells around 3:37pm. For our return, the train leaves at 6:42pm, and arrives at Red Wing about 9:42 pm.
Another great thing about this, this is a great chance for you to experience riding the train if you been wanting to, but don't want to take a long trip. This is a chance to experience both the Borealis, the commuter train between St Paul and Chicago and the Empire Buider, the long distance train that travels between Chicago and Seattle WA/Portland OR.
