About this Event
Join us for a special concert with Yuniel Jiménez, one of the most acclaimed Cuban tres players in New York’s vibrant Latin music scene.
Originally from Santa Clara, Cuba, Yuniel’s musical journey has taken him from Havana to Barcelona and now to Manhattan, where he has become a standout figure in the city's rich cultural landscape. In this performance, Yuniel explores the deep-rooted traditions of el punto cubano—Cuba’s música campesina (country music)—with a fresh and dynamic repertoire that includes classic pieces and original compositions. A gifted poet and performer, his music captures the soul, struggles, and joy of a guajiro cubano living in New York.
He will be joined on stage by:
Manuel Carro, percussion and backing vocals
Jorge Bringas, bass and backing vocals
Juancho Herrera, guitar and backing vocals
Osmay Pérez, trumpet and backing vocals
This concert is presented in collaboration with the Cuban Cultural Center of New York and proudly sponsored by Spanish beer Mahou, who invites you to stay after the performance to enjoy a cold beer, meet the artists, and share an unforgettable evening in our garden and auditorium.
