Sofía Rei is a Grammy-nominated vocalist, composer, and producer whose work sits at the intersection of tradition and experimentation. Born in Buenos Aires and based in New York, she has developed a distinctive voice shaped by South American folk traditions, classical training, jazz, experimental music, and electronics. Praised by The New York Times and DownBeat for her versatility, Rei moves effortlessly from intimate expression to electrifying intensity. Her performances, rooted in her evolving “Folk and Futurism” aesthetic, create a vivid dialogue between ancestral traditions and forward-looking sound worlds.
