About Amrum
Set in spring 1945 on the remote North Sea island of Amrum, 12-year-old Nanning works the potato fields, hunts seals and collects driftwood in order to help his mother feed the family. Life is hard—but in the final weeks of the war it almost feels idyllic. Then peace comes, bringing new threats: his staunch Nazi mother slips into depression, his family’s past collides with the present, and Nanning must face the legacy he inherited.

Cast: Jasper Billerbeck, Kian Köppke, Laura Tonke, Diane Kruger, Matthias Schweighöfer…

About Fatih Akin
Fatih Akin is a German-Turkish filmmaker whose work often explores identity, migration and societal fringes. With Amrum he turns to a historical terrain: a coming-of-age story set during the last days of World War II, based on childhood memories of Hark Bohm. The film confronts the burdens of ideology and the innocence of youth, blending personal storytelling with wider historical reflection.

Not suitable for minors or persons under 19 years of age.
