A spoken word and theatrical offering drawn from the letters of Amrita Pritam and Imroz, this performance is an act of remembrance- a quiet declaration, a gentle bow. A poetic interpretation of their letters by acclaimed spoken word poetess Priya Malik and acclaimed poet and storyteller Yahya Bootwala, the stage becomes a living archive of handwritten words, where every feeling travels through paper, pen, and silence. Each moment unfolded through letters written, sent, and read in waiting as both Amrita and Imroz travelled and wrote to each other during those travels. This is a love told entirely through correspondence.

The world often remembers Amrita through the echo of another name. When love is mentioned, the conversation quickly turns to Sahir. But there is a softer, truer truth. The enduring love of Amrita’s life was Imroz. It was for him that her heart returned, again and again. It was for him that she wrote her most loved, most remembered poem—Main Tenu Phir Milangi. This was not a loud love. Not a demanding one. It lived quietly in letters, in simple words, in long stretches of waiting—in calling Amrita “Jeeti” and Amrita asking Imroz, “Tum mujhe zindagi ki dopahar mein kyun mile?" They chose each other without trying to own each other. In a world that rushes love toward labels, certainty, and possession, their letters ask us to slow down. To pause. To listen to what is written and to what is left unsaid. This performance is not only about a romance from the past. It is about remembering a way of loving—one rooted in patience, dignity, and emotional truth. A love preserved in letters. A love that still speaks. And perhaps, now more than ever, a love that still asks to be heard.
