Join us as we honor America’s heroes and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States at the Town of Mount Airy’s American Spirit Parade on Thursday, July 2, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m.As part of our America 250 commemoration, this year’s parade highlights the enduring spirit of our nation—bringing together community, history, and service in a shared celebration of the ideals that have shaped our country. We are expanding participation in 2026 and welcome local businesses, organizations, and community members to join the parade.
This year will also feature a $500 prize for the best patriotic float—so get your red, white, and blue ready and bring your creativity.
Due to the length of the route, all participants must enter with a float or vehicle; walkers and animals will not be permitted.

The parade will begin at Mount Airy Elementary School (405 N. Main St.) and proceed to the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company Carnival Grounds (1008 Twin Arch Rd.). Following the parade, attendees are invited to stay for an evening program featuring a community dinner available for purchase to benefit the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company, live music by a local band, and a patriotic flag-raising ceremony with the National Anthem.
