About this Event
Welcome to Cap City Mahj Open Play!
Join Cap City Mahj for a morning of Open Play American Mahjong at Birdie Books; the perfect chance to shuffle tiles, sip a delicious beverage, and connect with fellow mahjong players.
This event is designed for players who already know the basics of American Mahjong and are looking for a fun, social environment to play a few games. Whether you’ve taken a lesson with us or already play regularly, you’re welcome to pull up a chair and join the table.
We’ll have mahjong tables set up and ready for play and have a copy of the 2026 Big Card and the 2025 NMJL card available to use at the event depending on the tables preference!
While you play, enjoy everything Birdie Books has to offer. Their cafe will be available for purchase throughout the morning, making it easy to snack, sip, and socialize between games.
A few notes:
• This event is for players who already know the basics of American Mahjong
• You do not need to bring your own Mahjong Card, we will provide the Big Card for use at the tables.
• Food and drinks are available for purchase from the cafe
• Seating is limited to keep tables comfortable for play
